MUBS lecturers threaten to strike
Principle Makerere University Business School Prof Wasswa Balunywa warns of a pending strike by the academic staff of Makerere University Business School if their salaries are not urgently harmonized.
Wasswa says government enhanced salaries of academic staff of all public Universities but despite the announcement salaries of over 230 academic staff of MUBS have not been enhanced.
Speaking the 14th MUBS Graduation ceremony where 1286 graduated with Diplomas and certificate in different fields Prof Balunywa said the lecturers have never been put on government pay roll and thus advises government to find money to pay these academic staff before the situation gets out of hands .
In his response state minister for Sports Charles Bakabundi advises the lecturers to remain calm adding that government is addressing this matter.
